If you came to book Wing Walker Sam, you are still in the right family. Military duties called Sam off the wing. Mike and Sam Tryggvason now book three demonstrations, day and night, through Tryg Aviation.

Wing walking is no longer offered. Mike and Sam are building the 2027 and 2028 coast-to-coast route now, and would like to plan it with you.

How we got here

Founded on the wing.Now flying as Tryg Aviation.

Mike and Sam Tryggvason are longtime air show performers who met in the industry and later married. They founded Tryg Aviation with their inaugural act, Wing Walker Sam: Mike flying, Sam on the wing.

Beginning in 2026 the company announced Viking 12 Racing, one of eight international teams in the Air Race X series, operating an Edge 540 v3 in both competition and aerobatic demonstration. When military duties called Sam off the wing, they converted the AgCat into the NightCat pyrotechnic platform and expanded its capability to daytime and nighttime aerobatic performances.

While the performances have evolved, the mission has not.

AgCat Demo

7 minutes · Grumman G-164A AgCat

A seven-minute surface-level demonstration built on energy management and precision. Mike flies the modified 450 hp AgCat through a modern barnstorming ballet, painting the sky with dynamic color-changing wingtip smoke while sharing the aircraft’s agricultural and military heritage.

Night

NightCat Demo

5 minutes · Grumman G-164A AgCat

Five minutes of graceful surface-level aerobatics that turn the AgCat into a pyrotechnic cinema: wingtip pyro, synchronized lighting, and familiar instrumentals. A rare night act, designed by Sam and flown by Mike, built for twilight and after-dark programs.

A ten-minute high-energy demonstration in the carbon composite Edge 540 v3 that Mike flies in Air Race X, one of only eight pilots selected worldwide. The act showcases extreme roll rate, speed, and agility, and introduces Viking 12 to the crowd.

As a military family, every performance is a tribute to service members, veterans, first responders, and their families. Mike and Sam Tryggvason operate Tryg Aviation with precision, safety, and a deep respect for the audience.

Questions organizers ask

Can we still book a wing walking performance?: No. Military duties called Sam off the wing, so wing walking is no longer offered. The AgCat still flies as the daytime AgCat Demo and as NightCat after dark. New this season is a third act: the Edge 540 race plane demo, flown as Viking 12.
Is this still Sam and Mike?: Yes. Mike Tryggvason flies all three demonstrations. He and Sam Tryggvason operate Tryg Aviation together, the same way they operated Wing Walker Sam.
